Key Endorsement Builds Momentum for Ward 3 Candidate
Las Vegas, NV – Demonstrating growing support coalescing behind Steve Evans’ grassroots campaign for the Las Vegas City Council, the Las Vegas City Employees’ Association today endorsed the popular Ward 3 candidate.
“I am proud to have earned the support of the Las Vegas City Employees’ Association,” Evans said. “These hardworking men and women keep our great city moving forward for all of us. For over 17 years as a resident of Ward 3 I have dedicated my adult life to the creation of good jobs and smart growth, and to the protection and preservation of our neighborhoods. As a member of the Las Vegas City Council, I will continue to be an energetic and passionate voice for the established neighborhoods as well as the emerging ones in our Ward.”
Don King, President of the LVCEA’s Board of Trustees, said, “We’ve worked well with Steve Evans for many years. He understands our issues, knows how the city works, and is tireless in his dedication to the neighborhoods and businesses of Ward 3. He’s definitely the right person for the City Council.”
The Las Vegas City Employees’ Association is an Independent Labor Organization operated by and for the Classified City Employees. Evans was recently endorsed by over 30 neighborhood and civic leaders from Ward 3.
Evans is the current Chair of the Las Vegas Planning Commission, where he has served since 2001. A native Nevadan who grew up in a working family, and a resident of Ward 3 for over 17 years, Evans has dedicated his adult life to the protection and preservation of the neighborhoods in his Ward. He has also been a powerful force in the cultural and commercial renaissance of Downtown Las Vegas. Mayor Oscar Goodman recognized this, appointing Evans to the Board of Trustees of the Neon Museum and to the 2020 Master Plan Steering Committee.
